NEW YORK, NY, September 21, 2009 – For the second consecutive year, Samsung Electronics will add another facet to its extensive sponsorship of the world's largest international video gaming competition. World Cyber Games (WCG), Inc., the organizer of the international video game competition World Cyber Games recognized by the Guinness World Records, today announced that Samsung Electronics, the world's leader in mobile technology, will co-host the Samsung Mobile Challenge (SMC).
Taking place during the WCG 2009 National Final on September 25-27 in conjunction with the New York Anime Festival at the Jacob K. Javits Center, the SMC will offer attendees and fans the chance to compete in two of the most popular mobile titles on the planet – Asphalt 4: Elite Racing and WiseStar2. The best of the best will earn their share of $11,000 in cash and the opportunity to travel to the WCG Grand Final in Chengdu, China as an official member of TEAM USA.

Gamers looking to gain an edge and increase their odds at winning the 2009 SMC can get the soon-to-be-released official phone of the WCG, the Samsung OMNIA II, to download Asphalt 4: Elite Racing and WiseStar2. The Samsung OMNIA II features 3G connectivity and a full 3.7-inch touch screen to make phone navigation easy. The phone also features GPS, a five megapixel camera and Windows Mobile 6.5 OS to support all the games consumers are able to download.
TEAM USA joins over 700 players from about 70 countries around the globe for the WCG Grand Final in Chengdu, China for the title of world's best gamer. The illustrious TEAM USA captured top honors at the 2007 Grand Final and placed third overall in 2008, including a silver medal for Steven Anderson in Asphalt 4: Elite Racing.
